AAA Concrete Raising Company wants every visitor to be able to read this site, request a quote, and reach us by phone or form, regardless of ability or the technology they use. This page describes what we have built toward that goal, where the gaps are, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.
Our standard
We aim for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That is the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act guidance for business websites, and it is the benchmark we test against when we change the site.
What this site does
The accessibility widget in the lower-left corner of every page gives you direct control over how the site displays. It can:
- Switch to a high-contrast color scheme
- Increase text size in two steps, up to 125 percent
- Swap the typeface for a dyslexia-friendly alternative
- Turn off animations and motion effects
- Underline every link
Your choices are saved in your browser and stay in effect as you move from page to page. The site also honors the reduced-motion preference set in your operating system.
Beyond the widget, the site is built with accessibility in the markup itself: pages use semantic HTML with a logical heading order, images carry alternative text, forms have labels, interactive elements show a visible focus outline for keyboard users, breadcrumb navigation is screen-reader labeled, and color choices in the core design meet WCAG contrast minimums. The site works at 200 percent browser zoom and on screens of any size. A language switcher in the header translates every page into Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, Russian, French, or German.
Known limitations
We are honest about where the site falls short today:
- Some photographs in older blog posts were imported from our previous website and may carry generic alternative text rather than a full description.
- Customer reviews are displayed through a third-party widget, and machine translation is provided by Google Translate. We do not control the internal accessibility of those services.
- PDF or image attachments linked from older posts may not be fully accessible.
We fix issues in these areas as we find them, and reports from visitors move items to the top of the list.
How we test
We review the site with keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom, automated accessibility checkers, and the accessibility inspection tools built into modern browsers. Testing happens when we redesign a template and when a visitor reports a problem.
