AAA Concrete Raising Co., Inc.

TO: Howard Denton, AAA Concrete Raising Company

I am a structural engineer who investigates buildings which have incurred various forms of damage and distressed; I have been in business 14 years. I have recommended Mr. Denton to a number of clients and have not received one negative comment on any work he has performed.

There are two important factors which make mudjacking projects succeessful. One is to make sure all the voids under the slab are completely filled with slurry. The second is to add portland cement to the "mud," which is really inert sandy loam soil. Although cement is inexpensive, I recommend putting no more than approximately one 94-pound sack of cement to each cubic yard of sandy loam soil. Adding any more cement to the mix can possibly add friction to limit the ability of the mix or slurry to flow easily under the slab to provide thorough and even support. Also adding more cement can cause the mix to set up prematurely like concrete, and the additional cement tends to stain the surface of the concrete slab, making clean-up efforts more difficult.

If you have possible structural damage and distress on on your property which cannot be corrected by mudjacking, please contact me for potential investigation and consultation.
